Born on December 3, 1960, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Julianne Moore began her acting career in 1983 when she was cast as Frannie and Sabrina in the soap opera As the World Turns, Moore played this role from 1985 to 1988.Moore then moved into films with parts in The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, Benny and Joon, Short Cuts, Nine Months, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and The Fugitive. In 1997 Moore played Amber Waves in Boogie Nights, she later had parts in the films Magnolia, An Ideal Husband, The End of the Affair, Far From Heaven and The Hours. Moore later gained more success with the Psycho, Hannibal and The Shipping News.
